Wow … what a weekend. Saturday I’ve been at a local car boot sale and brought bags of stuff (a couple of tank kits, a plane, a Billing Boat Kit …) and then afterwards I went with some friends of the Fischer Technik Club NL to a convention of the FTCommunity in Erbes-Büdesheim which was for the first time organised by Knobloch GmbH, a company dedicted to Fischer Technik.
I was most impressed by the large models … a crane made out of static parts, which was 3 times as tall as the builder D. Kutsch (easily!), a freefall rollercoaster and “flying Fischer Technik”. Thanks a lot folks for this nice day!

Today I find there is actually something different to report from the fleamarkets this weekend. On Saturday I came home with a Revell modell of the “U.S.S. Voyager” from Star Trek (more on that later). And today I could have gone mad … beside a lot of 1:35 scale military models (partly built and painted) I found some Carrera Universal cars which where worth their price.
A Opel Manta (Lexan), a Porsche and a A.C. Cobra Roadster. They cam together with a battered Porsche Carrera 6 (split bonnet) and a Cooper Climax (I think) in OK condition. Pictures will follow.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered two photo etch sets for the 1:72 Focke Wulf and the Mustang. I didn’t actually think they would still arrive, but they did. So now my issue is … keep building the FW190 and get a second one just to be able to build the cockpit or dismantle the one I have. I could make some things better, but I could also damage a bit more … not sure about that one yet.

Having received the colours (see previous post) I started building the FW190. The cockpit was straight forward and easy to build, as base colour I chose RLM “dark gray”. The Highlights where done with a flat white from Citadell Colours. I didn’t do a lot more here.

From an E-Bay Shop I got some colour sets for my modelling needs. They are by Gunze Sangyo Hobby Color. The sets are called “German Aircraft Camouflage (1941 – 1945)”, “German Tank Camouflage (1939 – 1945)” and “Ageing Set Military”.

I bought this Tamiya set while we where on a visit in Italy. And, since our neighbours had a long house-warming party I started assembling the figures. The kit consists of 2 bags. The first bag contains the figures themselves. The parts are grouped together by figure. That means no long search for parts. The second bag consists of 2 sprue of the same kind, the accessories. Cool, we will have some leftovers for the spare parts box.

Because I left for the last Italy trip in a hurry I procured myself something to read locally … obviously in Italian. Since I am not very good yet, I opted for magazines. It was quite hard to get some modelling related magazines around Venice, but at the End I found two. They are called “Steel Art” and “Sky Model”, both by the publishing house “Auriga Publishing”
