Remember, a couple of posts ago I promised a dutch reader that I would make a master for the Tamiya King Cobra wind screen. Finally I did it. I mixed up some CeranoFix (by Eberhard Faber) and pured it into the windscreen part I had.
Some people tend to adhere to strict recipes when it comes down to mixing something, but I tend to mix as I go on. I am used to this by my apprenticeship as electrician, about 20 years ago. Anyway, stir the mixture well and leave it a bit liquid so it lets air bubbles escape. The more liquid the mass is, the longer it will take drying.
Now I will let it dry a couple of days and then get it ready to ship if this reader still needs it …
[UPDATE]
Now I’ll just need the address of Peter to ship it to him. But that will be done privately.

Hello.
I got here as I was Googling for info on my next slotcar project.
I´m about to restore a vintage De Tomaso just like yours.
My problem is that I miss the windshield, is it possible for you to supply me with one in lexan?
Parts for theese old slotcars DO NOT grow on trees anymore, as I presume you already know.
I would be ENDLESSLY greatful if you could help me…
Best regards,
Bjorn, Sweden.
Hi Bjorn,
thanks for your comment. unfortunately the master went over to the Dutch guy already, but if you are happy about it, i’ll pass your mail address to him … maybe he is willing to help.
cheers
Klaus
PS: in the worst of cases I can cast a new master, but haven’t done lexan copies yet.
Hello Klaus.
I am really happy about your answer, any help to achieve a windshield is very much appreciated.
A windshield is a VERY important detail when building a model car.
My plan is to build the car as a De Tomaso, red with racing numbers.
It will look good on track against my Chaparral “Stroembecker” on vintage 1:24 Carrera racing chassie and my more ordinary vintage Carrera 1:24 slotcars.
I also have plans to modify a vintage Carrera 1:24 Porsche Carrera 6 (I got three of them, and this one is in really – really bad shape) in a blue and orange Gulf livery.

Hi Bjorn,
I passed your information on. Peter (the guy I made the master for) promised me that he will contact you once he has it ready.
cheers
