Ok … I’ll tell you what happened. After all this sanding, priming and filling a made a “fatal” error. I used the wrong paint for the finish. Have a look:
What happened is easy … I used 2 incompatible paints …
- Primer was acrylic based
- Paint was enamel based
That just doesn’t fit together. As you can see in Image 2 the enamel paint “clumped” together and didn’t cover very well.
So there is just one thing left to do, strip the body and start from scratch. The next step will be to remove the paint. I could use sanding paper to remove everything, but that will be to work intensive. You could by some special paint stripper, but I think that will be to expensive in the long run. The answer to this question is “Break Fluid” … the stuff that goes into your (or your parents) car.

Hi Peter,
I got mine a couple of years ago (yes, I have it as long) from an Australian, who sold it via Ebay.
Drop me a Mail, I’ll try to see if there is an easy way of replicating it.
cheers
