By now the model should be dismantled and all the parts clean. I hope you realised, that the model has a ridge in front of the wings and you didn’t shave off that one as well … this Version of the X-Wing Fighter will be grounded and therefore the S-Foils (wings) will be closed and the landing gear will be lowered.

Comparison Jet Engines - completed vs. uncomleted
First the jet engines will be glued together. On the second picture above you can see some red colour. I put some colour pigment on my fingers after gluing to highlight fine details which still need to be cleand. The colour of the pigment depends a bit on the colour used in moulding the parts you are working with. This is especially useful at the splices to highlight if they are sitting flush or not. Now is the time to shave off a bit more of the material if the splices are not flush.
